Summary
This project was created with the aim of bringing the daily struggles of women human rights activists in El Salvador, who dedicate their lives to defending the LGBTQ+ community, closer to Valencian society. Through their work, organizations such as COMCAVIS TRANS and Cristosal denounce the severe lack of protection suffered by these communities, as well as the shortcomings of the legal, political, and institutional systems that should guarantee their rights. Sharing their work also means highlighting the threats faced daily by those who defend dignity and equality in a hostile environment.
The intervention seeks to foster a more critical, conscious, and committed global citizenry, capable of demanding an end to violence and the implementation of public policies that ensure the protection of both the defenders and the community they support. The activities promoted within this framework are aimed at raising awareness in Valencian society about the vulnerable situation these women activists face in their country of origin, and at strengthening political advocacy so that the institutions of the Valencian Community become actively involved in their defense. In this way, the goal is to generate real changes that improve the conditions of those who risk their lives for human rights.
At the same time, the project promotes the creation of alliances and networking between organizations in El Salvador and entities in the Valencian Community, thus strengthening their collaborative work in defense of human rights. By disseminating these experiences and consolidating solidarity, the reach of awareness-raising efforts is expanded and the number of people involved in this cause is multiplied. The voices of Salvadoran activists thus become a bridge between different realities, capable of inspiring social commitment and opening new paths toward equality and justice.
