The project is carried out through an agreement with City Councils interested in its execution with beneficiaries from their municipality, who will collaborate in the management of the phases, in the selection and guardianship of the students and also participating in its financing.

Objectives

Social and labor integration of people in situations of exclusion.

Actions/activities for execution

Training and employment for people in situations of exclusion in organic farming.

Impact/Results

During 2017, the Agrosolidaris project made training in organic agriculture possible for 25 people in a situation of social exclusion. The students, previously selected by our collaborating partners, received in the first phase of the project a basic agricultural technician course for 4 months (200 hours of theoretical training and practices in the field), training in job search techniques and support to entrepreneurship (100 hours) and complementary training (which includes visits to ecological companies and cooperatives).

In the second stage of the project, a specialization course in product production and marketing was taught, lasting 8 months. The focus during this period was on tutored agricultural production, business management and marketing (40 hours) and, finally, cooperative training (20 hours).

It should be noted that this year it was possible to advance in the last phase of Agrosolidaris, which focuses on support for cooperative employment, which aims to facilitate the labor integration of students trained in the first stage, providing them with technical support for the constitution of associated work cooperatives for the production of fruits and vegetables with ecological techniques or marketing cooperatives, and also alternatively for self-employment .
