Summary

The "LIVELY AND INTERCULTURAL NEIGHBORHOODS. A THOUSAND STORIES TO BE TELL" project emerged in response to the dynamics of coexistence and community participation in the city's peripheral neighborhoods, characterized by growing cultural diversity and significant challenges in terms of integration and social cohesion.

Thus, the initiative focuses on strengthening coexistence in the city's peripheral neighborhoods. Through inclusive events of cultural expression, the initiative seeks to promote recognition and respect for existing cultural diversity, while strengthening positive interaction between residents and the community's social fabric.

Specifically, the project includes five sessions in five different neighborhoods of the city. Each session will begin with a storytelling session aimed at all audiences, designed to reflect and celebrate cultural diversity. This initial activity will be followed by workshops specifically for children, focused on promoting values of interculturality, respect, and recognition of diversity in a fun and educational way. Simultaneously, workshops for adults will be held, organized by local organizations in each of the neighborhoods, in which they will present different cultural aspects of the participants' regions of origin. These activities may range from learning a traditional dance or performing a theatrical performance to cooking traditional dishes.

These activities have been designed not only to enrich the cultural life of the neighborhoods, but also to foster a sense of community and strengthen the associative fabric, thus promoting more harmonious and respectful coexistence. The project is estimated to reach at least 200 residents of the five participating neighborhoods, including children, youth, and adults from diverse cultural backgrounds, actively involving at least 10 local entities from these neighborhoods, such as neighborhood associations, NGOs, and community groups.
