Meet the professionals who will participate in the first edition of our audiovisual creation laboratory.


Humans Lab will be held in Valencia from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 December and will feature top-level audiovisual professionals giving two master classes (which will also be open to the general public), two tutored sessions, two workshops and two workshops for the general public. one-to-one on the selected projects and a group session to prepare for the pitch and, as a final touch, to make a presentation to different production companies in the Valencian Community.

Estíbaliz Urresola, Director

He has directed titles such as "Adri"; "Polvo somos"; and "Cuerdas", premiered at the Cannes Critics' Week 2022, winner of the Forqué Award for best short film and nominated for the Goya Awards 2023. His first fiction feature film, "20,000 species of beeswas premiered in the Official Selection at the Berlinale and won the Silver Bear for Best Actress for Sofía Otero, the Audience Award and the German Exhibitors' Award. It also won the Golden Biznaga for Best Film and the Silver Biznaga for Best Supporting Actress, Patricia López Arnaiz, at the Malaga Film Festival. In addition, it has been chosen as candidate to represent Spain at the Oscars 2024.

Salima Jirari, consultant

Consultancy specialising in diversity of audiovisual projects. He collaborates with various programmes, companies and universities, advising on projects in development and giving sessions on unconscious biases in the creative process. With more than ten years of experiencehas worked in different areas of the film sector, such as distribution and production. Jirari is a professional who advocates culture and film as tools for critical thinking and social change.

Fran Ruvira, director

Graduate in Audiovisual Communication from the Universitat de València and the UPF in Barcelona. His directorial and screenwriting debut, "Orson West", is a feature film somewhere between documentary and fiction. He has developed his career in the field of audiovisual research from the PhD in Film Theory at the UPF. He also stands out for his role as producer He is committed to projects such as "Comala Comala", "Ferida arrel: Maria-Mercè Marçal", "#Precaritystory" and "Corto". He also works as teacher in various centres dedicated to audiovisual scriptwriting and narrative.
