Program Description
This project aims to To reactivate and consolidate an educational, emotional and community space for vulnerable adolescents in Catarroja. The DANA storm disrupted this key resource for the municipality, negatively impacting the academic performance, emotional well-being, and social connections of adolescents who were already struggling. This proposal addresses this gap by comprehensively tackling the educational, relational, and community consequences exacerbated by the emergency.
During 15 months, The project will offer ongoing intervention aimed at 20 secondary school students, identified and referred in coordination with the municipal Social Services. The activities are structured around three main areas: Academic support and guidance, with daily educational support and vocational guidance to prevent early dropout; emotional strengthening and bonding, through educational leisure, artistic expression, peer support and a summer camp; and sustainability of space, through a process of progressive transfer of the project to Ca la Mare, guaranteeing its continuity beyond the subsidized period.
The intervention will be carried out by a professional team consisting of a psychologist and an educator, with technical coordination from the Foundation for Justice (FxJ), and will incorporate participatory and inclusive methodologies that foster emotional expression, group cohesion, and active participation of adolescents. The project's approach is based on the Human rights, gender perspective and community perspective, paying special attention to the structural inequalities that affect adolescent and young women in situations of greater social or emotional risk.
