Foundation for Justice is developing for the Provincial Council of Valencia and under the coordination of the General Director of the Foundation, Ana María Fuertes, a methodology for evaluating and monitoring the state of the GOVERN OBERT in the public sector of the province of Valencia. This project designed by Laura Menéndez Monzonís and Gil María Campos Alabau, experts in the field, will help municipalities know their situation with respect to the GOVERN OBERT (GO). The three basic pillars of GO are transparency, the citizen participation and the accountability. The final objective of this methodology is promote compliance with legislation related to Open Government, both at the regional level (Draft of the Draft Open Government Law of the Valencian Community), and at the state and European level,
At this time, the tool is about to begin its phase of pilot experiences that will be carried out during the month of July 2018 in Alfafar, Sagunto and Serra, 3 municipalities in the province of Valencia. Workshops will be held that aim to validate the tool proposed by the experts and incorporate the suggestions made by the municipalities themselves.
The result of this process will be compiled in a final report to be published at the end of August. It is anticipated that this project will be the basis for the development of a future tool that can be used by all the municipalities of the Valencian Community to offer information to citizens about their level of compliance with the GOVERN OBERT.
