Next Thursday, June 10, at the University of Valencia, the conference “Betting on Open Government” whose main objective will be to contribute to knowledge in the field of socialization in the three pillars that make up Open Government: transparency, accountability and citizen participation. With this, the aim is to develop a space for reflection and debate around experiences and knowledge in the development, construction and execution of evaluation tools.
The concept of Open Government was born in a context in which the widespread use of new technologies and the digital revolution in recent years have modified the way Public Administrations communicate with citizens. At the same time, it has promoted certain changes in the way of governing that must be understood as true opportunities to promote trust, democratic quality and proximity to the general public. In this way, Open Government is “a way of governing and managing public institutions that advocates exercising power with and together with citizens and society.”
