Program Description
Can the historical memory and the defense of human rights To be the starting point for European youth to have their say? That is exactly what the project seeks. YEDR — Young Europeans between Decolonization and Rights (Young Europeans between decolonization and human rights). Within the framework of the European CERV program of the European Union, This 18-month transnational project brings together organizations from four countries —Spain, Italy, France and Albania— to put youth at the center of democratic action, through art, creativity and critical thinking about human rights.
The Foundation for Justice leads the Creative Laboratory of ValenciaA workspace with 60 young people aged 12 to 20 who, throughout the project, will explore their own experiences related to historical memory, identity, and human rights through photography, video, and storytelling. FxJ will work with facilitators and activists who are experts in these topics and in participatory methodologies and creating transformative narratives. FxJ contributes its experience as a human rights organization and its track record in global citizenship education to the consortium. Participating organizations include Terraperta (Italy, coordinator), Quartiers du Monde (France), Tjetër Vizion (Albania), and the Rafelbunyol City Council (Spain), which is leading the connection with the local community.
The project begins in September 2026 and runs until February 2028. Over these 18 months, a shared methodological e-book, creative and audiovisual materials developed with young people, and transnational meetings connecting the experiences of the four countries will be produced. If you are between 12 and 20 years old and live in Valencia, or work with young people in the field of human rights and civic education, the YEDR lab has a place for you.
