The Valencia Bar Association's Solidarity Awards have once again recognized fourteen social organizations, including the Foundation for Justice, for their work on behalf of the most vulnerable members of society. These awards, which the Bar Association has presented since 2011 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility project, aim to acknowledge, raise awareness of, and support initiatives that contribute to improving people's quality of life and promoting a more just and inclusive society.
Each year, the Valencia Bar Association allocates a portion of its budget to support projects developed by the award-winning organizations, thus reinforcing its commitment to initiatives that generate a positive impact on society. The recognized organizations work in diverse fields such as child and adolescent care, health, disability, international cooperation, social inclusion, and the defense of human rights.
The selection of award recipients is carried out through a participatory process that reflects the involvement of the members in this initiative. In the first phase, the members themselves submit, shortlist, and vote on the nominations. Subsequently, the ICAV Governing Board analyzes the proposals with the most support and makes the final decision on the award recipients.
The Solidarity Awards ceremony served to publicly recognize the trajectory, effort and dedication of entities that, from different areas of action, develop essential projects to address social needs, offer new opportunities to vulnerable groups and promote social cohesion.
During the event, the dean of the ICAV, José Soriano, recalled the College's commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and highlighted that "we allocate 0.7% of our budget to support projects with a direct impact on our society, also involving the members in the selection of the award-winning entities.".
For her part, Carmen Zarzo, the ICAV's 6th deputy and head of the Corporate Social Responsibility Area, thanked the recognized associations and foundations for their work and stressed that "the College's commitment is to support the work you do every day; our contribution always adds up to continue building a fairer and more supportive society.".
With this new edition of the Solidarity Awards, the Valencia Bar Association has once again highlighted the social dimension of the legal profession and reaffirmed its commitment to those organizations that, through their daily work, contribute to building a more supportive society and providing effective solutions to those who need them most.
