Foundation for Justice joins the condemnation of the massacre that occurred at the Melilla fence on June 24, where at least 37 people died at the hands of the security forces. We also want to show our most sincere condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones, we sympathize with them and demand a immediate judicial investigation to clarify the facts.

This violation of the human rights of migrants continues to occur due to the tightening of immigration policies and the externalization of borders that make access to safe migration routes difficult and encourage mafia business, the cost of which in human lives continues to increase. . Added to the insecurity of the routes are episodes of confrontation, violence and abuses of power, like the one we have just witnessed. As a firm defender of Human Rights, Fundación por la Justicia repudiates the practices that have been observed these days at the border, such as sudden returns or the burial of the deceased in graves without prior identification or autopsy, since these They contravene people's most basic rights and violate their dignity.

That is why we have adhered to the release prepared by the Melilla groups that fight on the ground for the defense of human rights as well as the proposal of the Implementation Team of the Afro-descendant Decade in Spain and the Elín Association to urge the United Nations High Commissioner to activate the necessary mechanisms to carry out an effective investigation of the events.

To join in the denunciation of this unjustifiable violence, we will be at the rally that will take place on Friday, July 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Plaza de la Virgen From Valencia.
