AWARDS

 

Peace and Justice

The festival's honorary award recognises the work of those who are committed to human rights and justice through audiovisuals. This year it goes to:

Isabel Coixet

The most prolific and international filmmaker in Spain. With a career spanning 35 years, she has stood out for her particular sensitivity and her gender perspective that deconstructs the traditional female representation in film, as well as for her commitment to promoting the work of women in the audiovisual sector through associations and film production.

Elena Belenguer

Valencian director who has won numerous awards at meetings such as the Fest Pitching Forum of the New Films New Directos Festival in Portugal and at Berlinale Talents Script Station 2018. She has also participated in the V Laboratorio de escritura de guiones de la Fundación SGAE.

 

Avelina Prat

Documentary film director and photographer. She started in Mexico as a documentary filmmaker and in 2011 she worked as co-founder of the film production company The Digital Watermelon.

Laura Herrero

Head of the Cultural Activities Department at the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

 

Elvira Cámara

Director of The Cabin of the Valencia International Medium-length Film Festival. She is also a member of the Association of Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media (CIMA).

 

Sara Mansanet

Director, producer and scriptwriter of documentary films.

Ricardo Macián

Journalist, feminist writer and author of From the trenches: feminist micro-battles.  

 

Laura Martínez

With more than 20 years of experience in the world of theatre, he has participated in series such as Crematorium, Pulsations Gran Reserva. Throughout his professional career he has won awards such as Cinema Jove's Un Futuro de Cine and the Berlanga Award.

Gloria March

Training teacher and Lambda volunteer for more than 20 years. Director of the professional team that trains teachers and intervenes in the classroom.

Fran Fernandez

Activist and human rights defender. Since 2013 she has been leading the strategies of the Spanish NGO Movimiento por la Paz (MPDL) in the Valencian Community. She currently coordinates the Implementation Team of the United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent in Spain.

Isabelle Mamadou

Founder of the Por Ti Mujer Association, where she combines the presidency with prevention, care and intervention work with immigrant women in the Valencian Community. She is currently president of the Red de Apoyo a la Mujer Inmigrante Víctima de la Violencia de Género (Red AMINVI).

 

Lucy Polo

He is a member of the Valencian Audiovisual Academy and a member in sustainability. He has participated in works such as The bridge of San Luis Rey (2004) by Mary McGukian; in the fiction feature film La Benvingudaby Pablo Peris, or the documentary The Mystery of the Pink Flamingo by Javier Polo, as co-screenwriter.

Sixto Garcia

Director of film, radio and television production at Silence Production y Audiovisual Distribution SL

 

Eva Garcia

Valencian actress who has won awards such as Best Dubbing Actress at the Valencian Professional Actors and Actresses Association Awards in 2022.

Pilar Martínez

Reporter in TàpZàpingon À punt, booktuber for sustainability and sustainable organiser of poetry and music events. 

Sénia Mulayali

Valencian author of numerous works such as On This Side of Silence, A Master of Bribery and Bizarro World, among others. In addition, he has also participated in the writing of numerous television series such as The Secret of Puenteviejo, Acacias 38 y Serve and Protect. 

Jordi Juan Martínez

Coordinator of the Animation and Videogames department at Barreira A+D.

Anna Juesas
