This initiative, which is included in the activities of the Humans Fest, consists of giving talks in various educational centers in the province of Valencia with the aim of raising awareness and encouraging student participation in the 1 minute, 1 right contest, within the official sections of the festival.
This category seeks to reward short films of a maximum of 1 minute and 30 seconds in length, created by students of any educational level and whose theme revolves around human rights. The participating short films will be screened in movie theaters in the minutes prior to the feature films from the official sections in competition at the festival and the winning short film will be chosen by popular vote in theaters during the big week of the festival. The prize for this category will be €250 for the best creation and will be awarded at the official closing ceremony of Humans Fest 2024.
The festival team goes to educational centers with an activist related to the defense of human rights, 5 of these sessions have already been held with secondary school students (IES number 1 of Requena), professional training cycles (High School of Arts and Trades of València) and university degree and master's students (Universitat Politècnica de València and Gandia as well as the Barreira School).
Likewise, in this edition, in which the central theme is climate change and the defense of the territory, the talks have left the city of València and have also reached Gandía and Requena, also involving local entities. The topics discussed have been diverse, from migration, the situation of mental health and people in prison, to climate change and its impact on biodiversity or poverty and exclusion, among others.
Finally, in this edition we have had the participation of the València Acull Association, the Àmbit Association, the Valencian Society of Ornithology and Cáritas.
