Valencia, July 29. Once the selection process for hiring the director of the Valencia International Film and Human Rights Festival – HUMANS FEST, the Evaluation Commission met last Friday, July 26, and decided to offer the candidate Samuel Sebastian the position of director of the Festival.
The Evaluation Committee recognizes the high level of all the proposals submitted to the Call, as well as the merits included in the candidates' CVs, both in the field of Training and professional experience, while thanking everyone candidates the interest shown in being part of one of the most emblematic projects of the Foundation such as the HUMANS FEST.
Samuel Sebastian He has a degree in Art History and a doctorate in Audiovisual Communication. His career as a filmmaker began in 2005 and he has been the director and screenwriter of numerous feature films and documentaries. He also has an excellent career as a film manager and has collaborated in the direction and programming of numerous film festivals. In fact, between 2015 and 2019 he participated in the development of the programming, creation of parallel sections and design of debates and round tables of the HUMANS FEST. Likewise, he is supported by commendable work as a volunteer for various organizations, and an enormous commitment to the refugee community.

CALL: Valencia, May 31, 2019. The purpose of these rules is to regulate the selective process for the hiring of the DIRECTOR OF THE VALENCIA INTERNATIONAL FILM AND HUMAN RIGHTS FESTIVAL – HUMANS FEST, with the following functions:
- – Organize annually the Valencia International Film and Human Rights Festival – Humans Fest and any actions deemed necessary for its extension in time and space, in its technical and artistic aspects, within the budgetary forecasts approved by the Economic Commission of Foundation for Justice.
- – Make proposals for collaborating personnel before the Foundation for Justice Project Commission, as well as before the Economic Commission for their hiring or dismissal, with a prohibition on self-hiring.
- – Report periodically on the actions before the Government Commission, and in any case, at the end of each edition of the Festival, by preparing the annual report of activities.
- – Mandatory attendance at all meetings called by the Project Commission, both for control and to give explanations to it or to the Board of Trustees.
- – Partnership activities for the search and increase of resources and actions linked to them.
2a.- OFFERED:
- – The position will be remunerated with a global amount of €10,000, and a variable amount depending on objectives, to be agreed upon when signing the contract.
- – The expenses necessary for the exercise of Management functions will be compensated in accordance with the rules of the Foundation for Justice, and will require, in any case, prior approval from the Economic Commission, and subsequent justification.
- – Contracting may be formalized through a Commercial Contract for the Provision of Services or a Labor Contract.
