What are Pepe Mujica's pills?

In 2020, the Foundation for Justice had the opportunity to record a series of speeches by former Uruguayan president José “Pepe” Mujica During his visit to Valencia. A valuable resource, full of reflections on politics, economics, and human rights.

Based on this audiovisual archive, we launched a proposal aimed at companies and entities interested in generating impactful content: short pieces in which professionals from different fields discuss Mujica's ideas on key issues.

What do the pills consist of?

It's about creating videos between 10 and 15 minutes long based on original fragments by Mujica, combined with recorded interventions from experts who, after viewing their initial intervention – and other complementary ones if there were any – through a screen (tablet, laptop, monitor…), reflect or debate on a specific topic.

The result: a dynamic piece, in the form of a “dialogue” between Mujica's thinking and current voices from the professional, academic or social world.

What is offered to the entities?

• Access to a previously unpublished, high-value audiovisual archive.
• Participation in the creation of a thematic video with experts selected by the company itself.
• Complete technical production: scriptwriting, recording, editing and final delivery of the video.
• Assignment of rights to use the material for internal or external communication.

The production is handled by InfoTV, a company specializing in documentary, social and cultural content.

Indicative budget

Professional team.
A coordinator, for the production of the recording and the selection of the content.
Three camera operators.
A sound operator.

An editor/director, for editing and post-production.
Calculation of working hours and costs.
For the script (selection of interventions by Mujica and the guests): 600 euros.
For image recording: 3 teams (operator + camera) x 330 euros = 990 euros.
For sound recording: 1 team (operator + recorder/table + microphones) = 500 euros.
For editing and post-production: 1 team (director + computer and software) = 1 day x 300
= 300 euros.
For the creation of the format (header, signs, sound and video effects): 1 team (production company)
+ computer and program) = 2 days x 300 = 600 euros (to be received in a single round).
Makeup and hairstyling = 180 euros.

Subtotal = 3,170 euros, plus VAT.

The recording space also needs lighting. We propose two options:
Option A. Conventional light, mounted and activated by InfoTV (6 LED panels) = 400 euros.
Option B. Professional lighting (design, technicians and lights) = 1,200 euros.

Part of the total will go to social projects in defense of human rights by the Foundation for Justice.

TOTAL (A) = 3,570 euros (plus VAT) + 999€ donation for social projects of the Foundation for Justice = 4.569 €
