FROM JUNE 7 TO 16 WATCH THE HUMANS FEST ONLINE!
The International Film and Human Rights Festival of Valencia, Humans Fest, has launched Humans Media (www.humansmedia.org), its own on-demand cinema platform that allows expanding the reach of the festival, making it accessible online for people who cannot attend and for all of Spain.
Humans Media includes 20 films: a selection of the films participating in the Official Section of the 15th edition of Humans Fest -five feature films and ten short films-; as well as two other documentaries screened out of competition such as Without oxygen (Ramzi Maqdisi, Palestine, 2020) and the winners of the last edition such as the Mexican film Kenya (Gisela Delgadillo, Mexico, 2022). All this content is Available until June 16 with a one-time subscription of 5 euros.
From the official section you can see The White Guard (Julie Elien, Mexico, 2023), an essential documentary that addresses mining looting and other megaprojects that displace farmers, awarded in Canada and premiered for the first time in Spain at the Humans Fest.
Also Between the Rains, (Andrew H. Brown and Moses Thuranira, Kenya, 2023), a coming of age in a Kenyan community affected by drought, awarded at the Tribeca Film Festival, the Calgary International Film Festival and in Hot Springs.
EITHER Breathe, mom (Meri Collazos Solá, Spain, 2024), which tells the story of Meri and her daughter Nina, who suffers from an Alpha1 genetic deficiency, a genetic rarity that unprotects her from any polluting air, so she begins a fight for clean air in Spain and Europe.
Also the Valencian film Llavors, (La Cosecha Comunicación, Perifèries, 2024), as well as Valencian short films awarded as 13, by Màriam Zelaya, for those over 16 years old, or The silence of the song, by Alan Luna from Alicante.
For its part, in an open, free and without expiration date, Humans Media hosts different audiovisual works that the festival and Fundación por la Justicia have generated throughout their editions. This is the case of the short films that have resulted from the participatory workshop with activists or at the Picassent Penitentiary Center.
