Patricio Guzmán left Chile more than forty years ago when the military dictatorship replaced the Popular Front, but he did not stop thinking about a country, a culture, a geographical space that he never forgot. After filming “the north” in “Nostalgia de la luz” and “the south” in “El cuerpo de nácar,” Guzmán now films what he calls “the immense spine that reveals the past and recent history of Chile.” "The mountain range of dreams" is a historical investigation, a cinematographic essay and an intimate and collective introspection about Chile.
