SYNOPSIS
This documentary uncovers an alleged international plot of alleged corruption and abuse by Valencian companies that plunder resources in Africa in the tigernut sector, the new fashionable superfood throughout the Western world.
It all begins when a horchata street vendor discovers an alleged widespread international scam in the marketing of tiger nuts as Superfood in the US, Japan, Italy, Germany and other European countries, and decides to undertake an exciting trip to Africa to investigate the origin of the tiger nuts of a dark network of companies that is earning millions of dollars in Valencia. Shocked by what he finds out, a trip that was going to last a week becomes a 3,000 km “adventure” in search of answers that uncover new unknowns that must be resolved. Along the way, he discovers how thousands of victim families struggle to find a fair solution (after 20 years of systematic plundering of their land) through initiatives such as the Mousso Faso cooperative, born in Ouagadougu (Burkina Faso) at the end of 2017.
