On Friday, February 10 at 8:15 p.m., the Valencia International Film and Human Rights Festival, Humans Fest, kicks off. It will be an evening to raise awareness about our rights and, at the same time, celebrate those that we have conquered, because on the path of human rights not everything is won and not everything is lost. As its director, Javier Vilalta (2017), comments, Humans Fest is consolidating itself in its VIII edition as a benchmark for the best international documentary film with 5 premieres nationwide, a festival driven by activism for justice and dignity.
The opening of Humans Fest will take place at the Filmoteca and we will have the inaugural screening of Talk by Joaquín Oristrell, a set of 20 stories that revolve around words, communication and dialogue to demonstrate their immense power (Filmaffinity).
With its satire and humor, Tonino Guitian The Social Chronicle of Valencia Plaza is full of letters, nothing or no one is missed and we will have the honor of having your presence as master of ceremony of the opening of Humans Fest.
In addition, during the inauguration the Pau i Justicia award that this year has fallen on the actor Juan Diego Botto in recognition of his career as an artist committed to human rights and for his activism and social involvement. The Filmoteca dedicates a cycle to him with the exhibition of the films Silencio Roto (Montxo Armendariz, 2001), There is a reason (VV.AA., 2004), Ciudadano Negrín (Sigfrid Monleón, Carlos Álvarez, Imanol Uribe, 2010) and Hablar (Joaquín Oristrell 2015). And to improve Friday's plan we will have the performance of the Compañía Improvisada & Rafel Arnal, an artist who experiments with the folkloric and portmodern landscape, making his creations a unique experience.
To culminate with all the forces the first day of the festival at 10:45 p.m. the doors of Radio City will be open to celebrate the Human Rights festival in a B Jam Session with Josh Stanley (Berklee students) and DJ Casius Tonen.
