On October 18th at 18.30 the pre-opening of the Valencia International Film and Human Rights Festival will take place at the Colegio Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados (calle Parque Nazaret, 82 in Valencia) with the screening of "Los niños del puerto" by Alberto Morais. The director will attend the screening as well as various actors from the film. Admission is free and limited to capacity. Los niños del puerto has participated in the Official Selection of the Toronto Film Festival and in Official Competition of the 35th Moscow Film Festival. It has also won the Best Screenplay award at the Tirana International Film Festival, as well as at international festivals such as the BFI London Film Festival, the Seville International Film Festival, the Olympia Film Festival, the Rabat International Film Festival, the Sao Paulo Film Festival and MUCES, among others.
«Los niños del puerto» tells the story of three children as protagonists. The central character is Miguel, a 12-year-old boy who makes the trip that his grandfather cannot make: go to a funeral and place a military jacket on the grave of an old man, a friend of his grandfather. Miguel, accompanied by Lola and Guillermo, will make their own «trip» through the outskirts of Valencia. Omar Krim, Blanca Bautista and Mikel Sarasa are the three protagonists and make their film debut with this film.
