Following the completion of the XXIII National Congress and XIX World Congress on Mediation<\/a> in the city of Quer\u00e9taro, Mexico, we are pleased to share the success of Fundaci\u00f3n por la Justicia's participation. This event brought together leaders and experts committed to building a more peaceful and conciliatory world.<\/p>\n

The president of Fundaci\u00f3n por la Justicia, Jos\u00e9 M\u00aa Tom\u00e1s y T\u00edo, played a prominent role in this congress by speaking at two conferences that addressed key issues related to mediation and social justice. His participation not only highlighted the foundation's commitment to these principles, but also contributed significantly to the global dialogue on the importance of mediation in the construction of a new social contract.<\/p>\n

The presence of the president of Fundaci\u00f3n por la Justicia at these events is a testimony to the organisation's commitment to the promotion of mediation as a powerful instrument for conflict resolution and the construction of fairer societies.<\/p>\n

In the framework of this important event, the convening organisations have issued an Decalogue<\/a> which reflects the fundamental values that underpin mediation as an instrument for transforming society. We highlight some of the essential points of this Decalogue:<\/p>\n

1. New Global Social Contract:<\/strong> The consensual construction of a new social contract is not only feasible, but also crucial for the survival of our planet and the prevention of the extinction of our species.<\/p>\n

2. Environment and Social Contract:<\/strong> Respect for and protection of the environment are essential elements in this new social contract.<\/p>\n

3. Irreplaceable Pillars<\/strong>Education, health, work and social justice are irreplaceable pillars in the construction of a new social contract.<\/p>\n

4. De-institutionalised self-compositional justice<\/strong>The concept of justice, which encompasses methods such as negotiation, mediation and conciliation, is presented as a natural expression of a justice based on the dignity and intrinsic justice of each person.<\/p>\n

5. Person-Centred Approach<\/strong>A new social contract must be centred on each individual, addressing his or her fundamental needs for harmonious and full development.<\/p>\n

6. Contribution of Institutionalised Justice<\/strong>Institutionalised justice has contributed significantly to the delivery of justice, opening up access to self-compositive methods and benefiting a greater number of people.<\/p>\n

7. Guarantee of Access to Justice<\/strong>Self-compositive justice guarantees access to justice, regardless of age, from childhood to the last stage of life.<\/p>\n

8. Mediator Commitment<\/strong>Mediators of the world are committed to being multipliers of the importance of peaceful families, schools and communities, playing an active role in generating social harmony.<\/p>\n

9. Active Engagement<\/strong>Those who have decided to become mediators are aware of the active commitment to contribute to the realisation of social justice.<\/p>\n

10. Unpostponable Public Policies<\/strong>The urgency of public policies at national, state and municipal levels that integrate people from the communities as peace mediators, allowing them to actively participate in the pacification of coexistence spaces, is highlighted.<\/p>\n
