The proposal reflects "gender perspective", as well as "the transversality of feminism", characteristics inherent to the festival that this year forms the backbone of its 14th edition, which is celebrated from June 1 to 10<\/span><\/h5>\n

The Valencia International Film and Human Rights Festival, <\/span>Humans Fest<\/b>, organized by Fundaci\u00f3n por la Justicia, has presented the <\/span>official poster<\/b> for its 14th edition, which has been created by the Castell\u00f3n-based illustrator <\/span>Vane Julian<\/b>, who has accepted \u201cthe challenge\u201d of graphically representing this year's thematic axis: the gender perspective in all its breadth and complexity.<\/span><\/p>\n

To achieve this, Vane Julian recognizes that he has used both his professional and personal background. In his words: \u201cMy career has taken me to live in very different countries and get to know <\/span>cultures <\/b>completely <\/span>opposite<\/b>, which has significantly enriched my work both conceptually and graphically. I combine my professional side with collaboration in cultural initiatives of <\/span>social content<\/b>, contributing my graphic side in a way <\/span>engaged<\/b>. All these concerns have been shaping my graphic imagination, which is now represented in this work.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Specifically, Vane Julian has a degree in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, she has completed her training with a master's degree in Illustration and Animation in Manchester, and she also has a diploma in Education. This has allowed her to develop a double role as a creator and trainer. During his studies and his professional career he has lived in other Spanish cities, such as Barcelona, and in several countries (Italy, the United Kingdom and Nepal). His work ranges from the editorial field to advertising, including murals and textiles. Likewise, he has been a finalist in the JUNCEDA 2021 and APIM MADRID 2021 illustration awards.<\/span><\/p>\n

THE CREATIVE PROCESS BEHIND A \u201cRISKY\u201d PROPOSAL<\/b><\/p>\n

According to Vane Julian, the poster results from \u201ca dialogue from a <\/span>feminist perspective<\/b>, both from me and from the Humans Fest team.\u201d In the end, that conversation has transformed into what she considers a \u201crisky composition\u201d in the shape of an H uniting all the elements that were wanted to be transmitted. \u201cI have used an eye as a central element, alluding to the audiovisual lens to represent the human gaze. On the other hand, the side vignettes reflect the <\/span>transversality of feminism<\/b>: the struggle, the tenderness, the empowerment, the cooperation\u2026\u201d, explains the illustrator herself.<\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, the team and the illustrator share their satisfaction with the experience during the creation of the official poster for Humans Fest 2023 and for the definitive proposal that will identify this 14th edition. \u201cParticipate in projects in which the <\/span>culture <\/b>as a tool of <\/span>social transformation<\/b> It is very rewarding. Humans Fest is committed to <\/span>diversity <\/b>and the <\/span>inclusion<\/b>, taking cinema to unconventional places. Being part of it is very enriching,\u201d concludes Vane Julian.<\/span><\/p>\n

SESSIONS WITH AUDIODESCRIPTION IN COLLABORATION WITH ONCE<\/b><\/p>\n

The Humans Fest takes a step further in its <\/span>intersectionality <\/b>and this year it will make part of its screenings accessible to people with visual disabilities. Fundaci\u00f3n por la Justicia, the entity that organizes the festival, signed an agreement last year with the <\/span>ELEVEN <\/b>to work together and demand full inclusion.<\/span><\/p>\n

This collaboration has begun to materialize in the 2023 edition, since the <\/span>official programming<\/b> will integrate films with <\/span>audio description<\/b>. in fact, <\/span>more than half of the festival days<\/b>, which this year takes place from June 1 to 10, will feature screenings with audio description accessible via the Audesc mobile application, which allows you to listen to the sound of the cinema and, synchronously, the audio description through headphones.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Humans Fest is part of the international Human Rights Film Network. Its 14th edition is celebrated thanks to the collaboration of the Conselleria de Cooperaci\u00f3, Diputaci\u00f3 de Val\u00e8ncia, Ajuntament de Val\u00e8ncia, Institut Valenci\u00e0 de Cultura, Caixa Popular and Teika.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
