The Valencia International Film and Human Rights Festival, <\/span>Humans Fest<\/b>, organized by Fundaci\u00f3n por la Justicia, begins a new week full of proposals, among which the <\/span>European premiere<\/b> from the fiction feature film <\/span>The Pampa<\/span><\/i>, directed by Dorian Fern\u00e1ndez Moris, and the <\/span>World Premiere<\/b> from the documentary <\/span>Bring it to the people<\/span><\/i>, directed by Luis Palomino. Both <\/span>directors<\/b>In addition, they will visit the city and participate in <\/span>colloquia <\/b>after the screenings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pampa<\/span><\/i> tells the story of Reina, a teenager who flees the abuse she has suffered in the sexual exploitation camps of La Pampa, in Peru, and sets off in search of her family. Its director is one of the most prolific and well-known filmmakers in the film industry of that country.<\/span><\/p>\n

For its part, <\/span>Bring it to the people<\/span><\/i> documents the beginning of vaccination against covid in the southeastern neighborhoods of Queens (New York), showing the phenomenon of misinformation and racism in a context of health emergency. Its director has been Honorable Mention from the Cinematographic Training Center (CCC) of Mexico and has received several international recognitions for different works.<\/span><\/p>\n

Luis Palomino's documentary, <\/span>Bring it to the people<\/span><\/i>, will be projected in the <\/span>MuVIM<\/b> on Saturday, June 18, at 6:30 p.m., prior to the closing of the festival. The movie <\/span>The Pampa<\/span><\/i> will have two screenings: the first, on Thursday, June 16, at 10 p.m., in the <\/span>Babel Cinemas<\/b>; while the second will be on Friday, June 17, at 8 p.m., in the Plaza Jard\u00edn de la Ermita del <\/span>Orriols neighborhood<\/b>, where a screen will be installed for a free, outdoor session.<\/span><\/p>\n

THE GOOD RECEPTION OF \u201cA LA FRESCA\u201d CINEMA<\/b><\/p>\n

These \u201cal fresco\u201d sessions are one of the main novelties of Humans Fest in 2022, when it has been decided to take films about human rights to the streets of the city to reach more citizens and facilitate their participation in the festival. In fact, more than a hundred people attended the screenings organized in the Patraix and Nazaret neighborhoods last weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n

ANOTHER PREMIERE IN SPAIN AND MANY COLLOQUIA<\/b><\/p>\n

The Official Section screenings will take place throughout the week at Cines Babel. Among them also stands out the <\/span>premiere in Spain <\/b>from the fiction feature film <\/span>Along the way<\/span><\/i>, whose multi-award-winning director, <\/span>Mijke de Jong<\/b>, will also pass through Valencia. This is what the directors will do too. <\/span>Roser Corella<\/b>, <\/span>Celia Novis<\/b> y <\/span>Anna F. Bofarull<\/b>, who will bring their jobs <\/span>Room without a view<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Once upon a place<\/span><\/i> y <\/span>Sinjar<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This last proposal, <\/span>Sinjar<\/span><\/i>, can be viewed on Friday the 17th and will feature a very complete discussion, since its director will be accompanied by the producer <\/span>Marian Matachana<\/b> and the renowned actress <\/span>Luisa Gavasa<\/b>, who has a Goya award and a Feroz award in his possession. The film tells the extent to which three women separated from their loved ones, in different parts of the world, are willing to go due to war.<\/span><\/p>\n

MORE PARTICIPATION, REFLECTION AND COMPLAINT<\/b><\/p>\n

The Humans Fest program also highlights the <\/span>Parallel activities<\/b>, such as the meeting on Tuesday afternoon at the Rector Peset Residence Hall, at 6 p.m., on participatory video as a tool for the defense of human rights, when a group of <\/span>migrant people<\/b> will present the <\/span>short films <\/b>which they have carried out in an audiovisual workshop organized by the festival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Likewise, coinciding with the <\/span>4th anniversary of the arrival of the Aquarius<\/b>, Humans Fest has planned a screening with a subsequent round table organized in collaboration with Doctors Without Borders. The chosen job is <\/span>Libya: no escape from hell<\/span><\/i>, a documentary about the situation of the thousands of refugees who are trapped in detention centers in Libya, where they live in inhumane conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, on Wednesday the 15th in the morning there will be a presentation <\/span>You choose<\/span><\/i> in the <\/span>Picassent prison<\/b>, a documentary work made by male inmates in prison based on a workshop given by the Alberto Pla agency team. Considered the official headquarters of Humans Fest, the prison will also subsequently host two film screenings that are part of the official section.<\/span><\/p>\n

HUMANS FEST JOINS THE #REGULARIZATION MOVEMENT NOW<\/b><\/p>\n

Humans Fest dedicates its 2022 edition to the right to migration and refuge from an anti-racist and gender perspective. For this reason, it has joined the state movement #RegularizationNOW<\/a>, which demands recognition of the <\/span>rights of migrants<\/b> so that they can exercise full citizenship. Thus, in the different activities of the festival there are signature sheets to join this social justice initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Humans Fest festival, organized by Fundaci\u00f3n por la Justicia since 2009, is celebrating its 13th edition thanks to the support of the Generalitat Valenciana, the Valencia City Council, the Valencian Provincial Council and Caixa Popular; in addition to the collaboration of more than 30 organizations and entities; as well as a large team of volunteers. \u00c0 Punt, the Valencian regional radio and television station, is the official media of the festival.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
