The Valencia International Film and Human Rights Festival, <\/span>Humans Fest<\/b>, has presented the <\/span>official poster<\/b> for its 13th edition, which has been created by the illustrator and graphic designer <\/span>Miguel Monkc<\/b><\/a>, who has worked on \u201cthe base messages\u201d of 2022, such as \u201cmigration, diversity, the power of cinema as denunciation and transformation, feminism and LGBTQIA+ equality,\u201d explains the author.<\/span><\/p>\n

These ideas have been represented by people walking and raising their arms while holding a \u201csuitcase-camera-projector\u201d, since one of the main <\/span>news <\/b>of the Humans Fest in 2022 is that it will organize <\/span>projections <\/b>in \u201cunconventional spaces\u201d such as <\/span>plazas <\/b>from different <\/span>neighborhoods <\/b>from the city. Specifically, it will be the case of Rascanya (Orriols-Torrefiel), Patraix and Nazaret.<\/span><\/p>\n

Miguel Monkc, who currently resides in Valencia, has been inspired by his own experience to create the poster for the 13th edition of the festival. Continuing with his words: \u201cI also emigrated from my country (Cuba), so the motto of Humans Fest in 2022 touches me very closely. I identify as a migrant person. It is something that I will always be until, little by little, the local merges with my past history.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Specifically, Miguel Monkc moved to Valencia in 2019 to pursue a master's degree in illustration and, since then, he has become known for various graphic collaborations with cultural initiatives and media in the city. During this time, he has also received other international commissions, such as illustration <\/span>street power<\/span><\/i> for The New York Times about the July 11, 2021 protests in his home country.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, Miguel Monkc believes in <\/span>wealth <\/b>that provide the <\/span>migrant perspectives<\/b> both in the field of illustration and cinema. \u201cMigration always brings with it very positive aspects for the diversity of discourses. All people have different ways of perceiving reality and, if we add that each creator has a unique and different inner world, when they merge with other realities, wonderful things happen,\u201d he says.<\/span><\/p>\n

HUMANS FEST LOOKING FOR PEOPLE INTERESTED IN FILM AND HUMAN RIGHTS<\/b><\/p>\n

On the other hand, the festival has started its <\/span>call to volunteer <\/b><\/a>by 2022, being an opportunity for people who want to develop skills related to the organization of a cultural and international event, film creation and human rights activism. Humans Fest offers flexible schedules to facilitate the balance between studies and work, as well as <\/span>certificate of participation<\/b>. A RENEWED TEAM FOR THE XIII EDITION OF THE HUMANS FEST<\/b><\/p>\n

In fact, the members of the volunteer group will be part of the <\/span>new team<\/b> of the Humans Fest, which this year has become led by <\/span>Majo Siscar<\/b>, journalist with 15 years of experience covering social issues in Europe and Latin America. Author of the book <\/span>Tremendous, Latin American fighters<\/span><\/i> (2019), currently combines his work on the television program \u201cLo de \u00c9vole\u201d, on La Sexta, with the direction of the festival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Majo Siscar has trusted other women specialized in social communication and cinema to develop the 13th edition of the Humans Fest. Specifically, the team is completed <\/span>Cristina Vivo<\/b>, as production coordinator, <\/span>Pilar Almenar<\/b>, as awareness coordinator, and <\/span>Laura Bellver<\/b>, as communication coordinator. They also have the support of <\/span>Carmen Marti<\/b>, communications manager <\/span>Foundation for Justice<\/b>, organizing entity of the festival, as well as the technical team of this entity, with extensive experience in human rights: <\/span>Claudia Squillacioti<\/b>, <\/span>Elena Vecino<\/b> y <\/span>Pilar Dur\u00e1n<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
