\"\"The Jury of the IX Edition of the Fundaci\u00f3n por la Justicia-Bancaja Award, meeting on June 8, 2010, has decided to award the IX Fundaci\u00f3n por la Justicia-Bancaja Award to the Missionaries of Charity for their work in defense of human rights and above all for his dedication to the poorest of the poor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Missionaries of Charity is a\u00a0religious order<\/a>\u00a0catholic<\/a>established in\u00a01950<\/a>\u00a0for the Mother\u00a0Teresa of Calcutta<\/a>\u00a0to help the poorest of the poor. Among the many merits that have been taken into account, the value of Justice against violence as a system for addressing reality and especially difficult working conditions has been especially valued.<\/p>\n

The Missionaries of Charity are present in 133\u00a0countries<\/a>, serving\u00a0refugees<\/a>, ex\u00a0prostitutes<\/a>,\u00a0Mentally ill<\/a>,\u00a0abandoned children<\/a>,\u00a0lepers<\/a>,\u00a0AIDS victims<\/a>, elderly and convalescents. They have schools run by volunteers to educate street children or soup kitchens and provide other services according to the needs of the community. Only in\u00a0Calcutta<\/a>\u00a0There are 19 houses that welcome needy men and women, orphaned children, AIDS patients, a school for street children and a leper colony.<\/p>\n

The IX Foundation for Justice-Bancaja Award consists of the Gold Badge of the Foundation for Justice, the Diploma accrediting the IX Foundation for Justice-Bancaja Award and a financial award of eighteen thousand euros (\u20ac18,000).<\/p>\n

The Presentation Ceremony of the IX Foundation for Justice-Bancaja Award will take place on Thursday, July 1, 2010, at 7:30 p.m., at the IVAM.<\/p>\n

The previous winners were: Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Gonz\u00e1lez, the Tribunal de las Aguas de la Vega of Valencia, the Association of Victims of Terrorism, the Association for the Search for Missing Boys and Girls of El Salvador, Professor Muhammad Yunus (Nobel Prize of the Paz 2006), Bogaletch Gebre, Father Vicente Berenguer and Dr. Pedro Cavadas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
