The documentary \u201cPunne\u201d, made by Pepo Ruiz and winner of the last edition of the International Film and Human Rights Festival, has been selected for Los Angeles Diversity Film Festival.<\/em> This film festival seeks to establish a truly multicultural experience represented by an independent world film community.<\/p>\n

For its part, "Punne"\u00a0(Albino) tells about the work that the NGO ANPRAS (National Association for the Reintegration of Senegalese Albinos) carries out in Senegal to help thousands of albinos fight against the social stigma and physical consequences of this genetic disease. According to data from the organization, 99% of sub-Saharan albinos die from skin cancer and about a hundred are murdered each year. Furthermore, s<\/span>They suffer from optical problems and the African sun causes ulcers, burns, melanomas, and blindness. The documentary narrates the struggle of activists to end the marginalization of the thousands of albinos in Senegal.<\/p>\n
