Over the past week, the Foundation for Justice has had the privilege of hosting a group of Colombian activists and human rights defenders with whom we shared spaces for dialogue, reflection, and collective action. Their visit marked the culmination of a series of activities dedicated to highlighting the experiences of exile and the peace processes in Colombia. Stories of resistance, lessons learned, and testimonies were shared, reminding us of the importance of examining exile..<\/strong><\/p>\n

Three meetings were held<\/strong> which addressed different dimensions of the defense of human rights. In the colloquium \u201cDignity in exile, a matter of justice\u201d<\/em>,Testimonies were heard from women who have experienced exile as a consequence of the armed conflict, emphasizing their resilience and commitment to the truth. Botanical Garden of Valencia<\/em>, the day \u201cLearning to build peace\u201d<\/em> She invited reflection on the lessons of the peace process in Colombia and the need to build a global culture of peace. In the talk \u201cTowards the classification of exile: gender perspective and justice for Colombian women\u201d<\/em>, with Ana Mar\u00eda Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, Daniela Paredes<\/strong> y Mar\u00eda Esperanza Ram\u00edrez<\/strong>, They addressed exile as a form of violence and the need to do so from a gender and justice perspective for Colombian women. The participation of the activists and their lawyers from the Colombian Commission of Jurists has been profoundly enriching for strengthen ties of international solidarity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The activists also participated in activities such as a visit to the Water Tribunal, accompanied by members of the Foundation for Justice and the Colombian Commission of Jurists. Additionally, the Master's Program in Human Rights and International Justice of the University of Valencia<\/em> hosted the screening of the documentary Refugees on Stage: Exile, Memories, and Peace<\/em>, This was followed by a dialogue with Daniela Paredes and Claudina Garc\u00eda, who shared their testimonies about legal defense and the experience of exile. This session combined film, memory, and human rights, offering students an enriching experience that promotes empathy, critical reflection, and a commitment to justice in the classroom.<\/p>\n

The Foundation for Justice will soon present a new documentary<\/strong> related to everything developed this week, which will give voice to the experiences of those living in exile from Colombia.<\/p>\n

The conversations held leave a clear message: Peace is learned and built by everyone.<\/strong>, Building bridges between territories and experiences. We thank all those who have collaborated and the participants for the human exchange and the shared stories.<\/p>\n
