The objective is to bring social and committed cinema <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">to <\/span>all corners, especially places where audiences suffer systematic violations of their rights, as reflected in these films, and where spaces for reflection are especially necessary.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STRONG COMMITMENT TO VALENCIAN CINEMA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>A room of my own<\/em> \u2014Best Feature Fiction Award in 2023\u2014, <em>Red rooster<\/em> \u2014honorable mention for Best Feature Fiction in 2024\u2014, <em>The Pampas<\/em>, <em>Camping du lac<\/em>, <em>The white guard<\/em> \u2014Best Documentary Feature Award in 2024\u2014 and <em>Llavors<\/em> \u2014opening screening of Humans Fest in 2024\u2014 will be part of the feature films selected this year for the cycle <em>A world in motion<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>As for the short films, three of them were created collectively in the film workshop for activists that Humans Fest held last year with Valencian social entities: <em>New Val 2075<\/em>, <em>No places<\/em> y <em>Move horizontally<\/em>They are joined by another nine who have competed in the Official Section of the festival: <em>Puyuelo <\/em>\u2014Best Documentary Short Award in 2024\u2014, <em>Where children don&#039;t dream<\/em> \u2014honorable mention for Best Documentary Short in 2024\u2014, <em>The flat<\/em>, <em>The heights<\/em>, <em>Local heating<\/em> \u2014Best Short Fiction Award in 2024\u2014, <em>Passing Teruel<\/em> \u2014Best Valencian Short Film Award in 2024\u2014, <em>13 <\/em>\u2014honorable mention as Best Valencian Short Film in 2024\u2014, <em>Casting <\/em>y <em>180 degrees<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In total, there are original works from six Latin American and European countries. In addition, this edition&#039;s programming has made a strong commitment to Valencian cinema on human rights with the inclusion of six Valencian production proposals, three of which have been originally filmed in Valencia.<\/p>\n<p>With this initiative, both institutions maintain their commitment to defending human rights, crossing borders through cinema as a means of social protest and a driving force for change.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE AECID FILM LIBRARY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The AECID Film Library, founded by Lola Millas, has been considered a support tool for screenings abroad through embassies, consulates, cultural and training centres or foreign universities. Its founder had the objective of sharing the commitment to cinema, its culture and knowledge in all parts of the world. For this reason, each year the AECID Lola Millas Film Library develops different actions linked to its social commitment, such as the cycle <em>A world in motion<\/em> which began in collaboration with Humans Fest in 2023.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT HUMANS FEST<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Humans Fest is one of the main projects promoted by Fundaci\u00f3n por la Justicia, which started it in 2008. This year marks the 16th edition of the festival, dedicated to armed conflicts and the culture of peace. Humans Fest is part of the international Human Rights Film Network, along with 52 other film and human rights festivals from around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Its 15th edition, the last one to be held, was thanks to the collaboration of the Vice Presidency and Department of Social Services, Equality and Housing of the Generalitat Valenciana; Valencian Institute of Culture; Valencia City Council; the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA); the Provincial Council of Valencia; Caixa Popular and Teika.
