The <\/span>armed conflicts<\/b> and the <\/span>culture of peace<\/b> will star in the <\/span>XVI edition<\/b> from <\/span>Humans Fest<\/b>, the International Film and Human Rights Festival of Valencia organized by the Foundation for Justice. However, as a novelty this year, this theme will only be the subject of one film cycle, since <\/span>The official section now accepts any work on human rights<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe thought that in this way we could offer a <\/span>Much more diverse cinema<\/b> in each edition and, therefore, appeal to different audiences to get them mobilized and connected to the festival. In addition, opening up the theme of our official section makes it easier for us to select films produced in the last year, guaranteeing the <\/span>quality <\/b>and the <\/span>current affairs factor<\/b> that we like to offer at Humans Fest,\u201d explains its director Pilar Almenar.<\/span><\/p>\n Humans Fest has also announced that it will celebrate its 16th edition <\/span>From Thursday, May 29th to Saturday, June 7th<\/b> The ten-day event will not only screen a selection of films and documentaries in different venues throughout the city, but will also include other complementary activities, such as human rights forums, workshops and exhibitions.<\/span><\/p>\n OFFICIAL SECTION OPEN UNTIL MARCH 2025<\/b><\/p>\n Humans Fest distinguishes again <\/span>four categories<\/b> in its 16th edition: <\/span>Humans Fic<\/span><\/i>for the best international feature and short fiction films; <\/span>Humans Doc<\/span><\/i>for the best feature and short documentary films; <\/span>Curt i Barrejat<\/span><\/i>for Valencian short films dealing with human rights in documentary or fiction genre; and <\/span>Building peace in a minute<\/span><\/i>for micro-films made by students.<\/span><\/p>\n All of them have cash prizes. In this edition, the theme of the works is open to any issue from an intersectional and rights perspective; with the exception of <\/span>Building peace in a minute<\/span><\/i>, in which the proposals presented must necessarily address the issue of armed conflicts and a culture of peace.<\/span><\/p>\n The festival has already published the <\/span>basics<\/b> registration form to participate in these <\/span>official sections<\/b>which can be consulted at<\/span> the website<\/span> www.humansfest.com<\/span><\/a> and on the specialised platform <\/span>Festhome<\/span><\/a>. On this occasion, the deadline will remain open <\/span>until Thursday, March 20, 2025<\/b> with the exception of <\/span>Building peace in a minute<\/span><\/i>, whose deadline has been extended until Wednesday, April 30.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In addition, as in previous editions, two other awards will be granted without financial compensation. One will be the <\/span>honorary prize<\/b> to a person distinguished for his career in the defense of human rights from the audiovisual world. And another, the <\/span>EDAV Award<\/b>, awarded by the Valenci\u00e0 Audiovisual Writers Association for the best Valencian short film script.<\/span><\/p>\n Humans Fest is part of the international Human Rights Film Network, along with 52 other film and human rights festivals from around the world. Its 15th edition, the last to be held, was thanks to the collaboration of the Vice-Presidency and Department of Social Services, Equality and Housing of the Generalitat Valenciana; the Valencian Institute of Culture; the Valencian City Council; the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA); the Valencian Provincial Council; Caixa Popular and Teika. For its part, the Valencian regional radio and television channel, \u00c0 Punt, is the official channel of the festival.<\/span><\/p>\n
