All three have portrayed the struggle of African activists for human rights in general and socio-environmental rights in particular.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This photographic exhibition, organized in collaboration with the <strong>University of Valencia<\/strong> and the <strong>Department of Equality of the Valencia City Council<\/strong>, goes hand in hand with the journalistic investigation that the three published in the media <a href=\"https:\/\/africamundi.substack.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Africa World<\/span><\/a> so the images are accompanied by testimonies and personal stories about how to work against climate change under the threat of multinational corporations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is the case of the French oil company Total Energies, which leads the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project, a 1,443 kilometer pipeline between Uganda and Tanzania to export 6.5 billion barrels out of Africa. With an estimated production of 34 million tons of CO\u2082 per year, this pipeline will double the current emissions of these countries, for which it has been strongly confronted by <strong>local activists<\/strong> y <strong>environmental organizations<\/strong>, since it endangers the fight against climate change and fails to comply with the Paris Agreements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This story is complemented, in turn, with images that prove the <strong>environmental impact<\/strong> and in habitat in endangered native Rothschild giraffe populations, chimpanzee communities, as well as mangrove forests and the African barrier reef. All of this is the result of a journalistic investigation that took place between September and October 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The opening ceremony of this exhibition took place in the Tabacalera Building itself, where it will remain <\/span><b>until June 16 with<\/b> <b>free entry<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and was attended by Mar\u00eda Dolores Pitarch, delegate of the rector for the Universitat-Societat program; David Soler, curator of the exhibition; Ferran Senent, head of the Social Inclusion and Coexistence section of the Valencia City Council; Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Tom\u00e1s y T\u00edo, president of the Foundation for Justice; and Majo Siscar, director of the Humans Fest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>THE XV EDITION OF HUMANS FEST BEGINS<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Humans Fest will open its 15th edition on Thursday, May 30 and will run until June 8. This year it will develop its <\/span><b>film series <\/b><b><i>Peace and Justice<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the title <\/span><b><i>Against invasions, peace and justice<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, projecting <\/span><b>three palestinian films<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at La Filmoteca IVC on Friday, May 31, Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2; as well as the Oscar-winning documentary <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">20 days in Mariupol <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on<\/span><b> war in ukraine<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on Wednesday, June 5.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For its part, the screenings of fiction and documentary feature films of the <\/span><b>Official Section<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> They will be from Friday, May 31 in <\/span><b>Babel Cinemas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, while the short films in the Curt i Barrejat category can be enjoyed in the <\/span><b>SGAE Center Cultural Room<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on June 3, 4 and 5 at 5 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Added to all this are the <\/span><b>free outdoor film sessions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which will take place in Nazaret, El Saler and Orriols, as well as an extensive parallel program that includes multiple talks called <\/span><b><i>Debates Humans<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and two meetings with activists, the so-called <\/span><b><i>Vermouths Humans<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which will be held on Saturday mornings, June 1 and 8, at MUVIMAS (the MuVIM cafeteria).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once again, Humans Fest will aim to facilitate the <\/span><b>accessibility for all audiences<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and, thanks to the collaboration with the ONCE Foundation and FESORD, it will offer audio description and interpretation services in sign language at many screenings and colloquiums. Its 15th edition is celebrated thanks to the collaboration of the Second Vice Presidency and Department of Social Services, Equality and Housing, Diputaci\u00f3 de Val\u00e8ncia, Ajuntament de Val\u00e8ncia, Institut Valenci\u00e0 de Cultura, Caixa Popular and Teika.
